APRIL–THINGS TO SOW IN THE GREENHOUSE AND GARDEN

April really is one of the busiest months in the vegetable garden lots of things need sowing now not just for the summer but next Autumn and Winter.If you haven’t already sown you hot Chillies its a little late best to buy plants from a specialist.

If your sowing indoors make sure the compost is kept inside for a couple of days to warm up as well,and time to decide what method you are going to use to grow that summer favorite Tomatoes

You can also grow lots of Herbs from seed but for French Tarragon and named Mints again best to buy from a specialist

This month is also the perfect time to be sowing hardy Annual flowers as long as the soil is about 7 degrees(could you bare it on a bare Bum!!!) and i really recommend

Sowing and Growing Carrots

Sweet and juicy straight from the Raised- bed new season carrots are a real treat and providing you give them the right conditions and protection dead easy to grow.I show you how i use the broadcasting method to sow them and why fleece is an essential to protect then from Carrot Root Fly

The early sowing can use fast maturing variety’s or the small round variety’s which also grow well in containers,and the latter sowing use Main crop variety’s to store for winter use

WIRE FRAME SUPPORT FOR FRUIT GROWING

If you are going to grow raspberries, blackberries or any hybrid berries you will need to grow them with a support.  The simplest way to do this is using posts and wire.  In my film i show you the easiest way to create a long lasting and sturdy support.
