One of the quickest and most effective ways of creating a new productive vegetable bed is by combining the techniques of No-Dig growing and the use of Straw or Hay bales.This film explains how and why i find this such a great way to add growing beds quickly and get the bed productively producing fresh vegetables the shortest time.

Hi Mark, just wondered if the straw bale raised bed would be suitable for perennials. I would like to plant some asparagus in our new allotment which at the moment is very overgrown and will need clearing first, but I believe will have poor sandy soil. Thanks.
